Correctly Pushing the Cage NEVER

 Push a cage that is top heavy

 Push a cage with defective wheels

 Push a cage over an unsuitable surface (use your sack truck or ferry by hand)

 Never attempt to lift or carry too much in one go, better to carry sensible loads over more journeys. (See later Manual Handling). Attempt to stop a cage from falling, stand well clear

 Manually lower cages from a raised tail lift or assist the driver in unloading the vehicle.

 Place your hands near or into the moving parts of the tail lift

Getting Help Moving the Roll Cage

Where the cage is heavy or needs to be moved up an incline then you may want help moving the cage.  If the route is narrow then the cage should be broken down and moved by hand.  If space allows 2 people can push the cage from the back.  Never allow 1 person to push and 1 pull – if the person pushing trips they are likely to be run over by the cage / cause it to topple as it runs into them.
