Sip and Stroke Painting Class, October 12th

Horseshoe Bend Cup Tournament, October 1st & 2nd

Our Annual Horseshoe Bend Cup will be held on October 1st and 2nd this year. One of our signature events, we look forward to seeing all teams come together in camaraderie and competition! The tournament spans over two days and brings together the Ladies, Men, Senior, and Super Senior divisions to compete against one another. Come out on Sunday afternoon to cheer on your team and watch the exciting finish! Our One Day Men’s Member/Guest Tournament includes lunch, available from 11:30-12:45pm, a 1:00pm shotgun, prizes, and drinks after play in the Jockey Room. The cost for this event is $130 for one member and one guest. Members may invite up to 3 guests to play in the event. The cost for each additional guest is $65. Signups are available through October 2nd through the link sent in the weekly E-blast. If you have not already signed up, hurry to reserve your spot! Our Ladies’ Club Championship will be a two day competition with a Gross Flight and a Net Flight. Both Flights will play 18 holes each day. The Gross Flight will play from the Ladies Players tees and the Net Flight will play from the Red Tees. The Gross Flight individual winner will be crowned our Ladies Club Champion as well as receive an invite to the Champions’ Dinner later this year. The cost for the event is $90 and includes lunch and prizes. You may complete registration through the link sent in the weekly E-blast. Call the Golf Shop at 770-992-1818 if you have any questions. Men’s One Day Member/Guest Tournament, October 5th We invite all ladies to join us for our final Queen of Clubs Qualifier on October 19th. We will begin with a 9:00am shotgun start and meet on the Terrace for scoring after play. We will then calculate the top 8 ladies in the Year Long Points Race. The top 8 will head back out to the golf course for the Final “Shootout”. After the “Shootout,” we will head back in for lunch and awards. The cost for this event is $40 per person and includes cart fee, lunch, and prizes. Registration may be completed through the link sent in the weekly E- blast. Join us for the last Race for the Steeplechase Men’s Day on Thursday, October 20th. We will begin with a 9:00am shotgun start and meet in the Jockey Room for scoring after play. We will then calculate the top 10 men in the Year Long Points Race. The top 10 will head back out to the golf course for the Final “Shootout”. After the “Shootout,” we will head back in for lunch and awards. The cost for this event is $50 per person and includes cart fee, lunch, and prizes. Sign ups can be completed via the link sent in the weekly E-blast. Our sister Club, The Golf Club of Georgia, will host the 2016 United States Collegiate Championship on October 20th thru 23rd! Competitors include Auburn, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Iowa, Kent State, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, USC, Virginia, Wake Forest, and of course the host team, Georgia Tech. All Horseshoe Bend CC members are invited to cheer on their favorite team and watch the future stars of the PGA Tour as admission is free for all. Let out your inner van Gogh, Renoir, or Picasso in this fun, relaxed atmosphere while you further develop your creativity and skills! Join us on Wednesday, October 12th in the Terrace from 6:30pm to 9pm for our Sip and Stroke Painting Class. Our instructor, Maureen Engle, will demonstrate and teach as you create your own original art on canvas with brush and palette knife. The painting subject for the evening will be birds and nests. Maureen will provide reference material, but you are welcome to bring your own. The cost is $70 per person, including all materials, and reservations are required. Cancellations after Oct. 10th will be charged. About the Instructor: A local artist and instructor, Maureen has examples of her work hanging in the lower entranceway of the Clubhouse. She is a current instructor at Spruill and Alpharetta Art Centers and has taught painting for over twelve years to adults of all levels. Her work can be found locally at Frameworks Gallery in Marietta, Web Marstellar Design Center in Atlanta, 9 Design in Roswell, and Wild Oats and Billy Goats in Decatur and Milton. Saturday, October 22nd is the date between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm, so be sure to save the date! Music, mayhem, and an evening of fright with a dinner buffet just right for the night. Dress up (if you dare) to see who you scare; we just can't wait to see what you wear! Circle the date, and don't be late... A wicked time we have in store for all who enter through our door! Costs for this event are: Adults, $21.95; 12-8 years old, 12.95; 7-5 years old, $9.95; and 4 & under are complimentary. Reservations can be made through the member portal. We welcome all 2016 New Members to join us for a Welcome Reception on Wednesday, October 19th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Grandstand Tavern Terrace. Mingle with other new members over light hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine or draft beer while we give a short presentation showing all your Club has to offer and how to get involved. Members of management will be present to answer any questions you may have. There is no cost for this event, however reservations are requested. Join us at the Grandstand Tavern Bar from 6:00pm – 7:00pm for complimentary beer tastings on Wednesday evenings as we explore a variety of local brews. Each week, we will feature a new local craft brewery with unique styles and flavors. Be sure to check the weekly E-blast for details! Every Friday evening, the Tennis and Swim Clubhouse holds a Friday Night Tennis Social. For members looking for a social environment, a cocktail before dinner in the Grandstand Tavern, or a place to meet new friends, this is the place to be between 5:00pm and 10:00pm! Thinking about trying out your game? The night is open to players of all levels to come out and experience the award winning facility. At 7:30pm, the players head to the court. To keep it fun, partners will be regularly mixed up allowing players to be as social or competitive as you like. After tennis, players meet back in the Vantage Point Bar around 9:30pm to socialize until close. Keep in mind, if you don’t play tennis, it doesn’t matter! Kids’ Night Out , October 8th

Vantage Point Bar

HBCC Kids’ Night Out will be at the Tennis & Swim Clubhouse on Saturday, October 8th from 5:00pm-9:00pm! There will be lots of "fall fun" activities in store for kids age 5-12 years old, such as flag football, pumpkin crafts, and bobbing for apples. Dinner will be provided, followed by s'mores at the fire pit! Reservations are a must, and price per child is $21.95. Reservations can be made through the Member Portal or by calling 770-810-0972. Sunday Night Football at the Vantage Point Bar

Looking for the perfect view of the field for the big game, plus great friends and food? Join us for Football Night in the Vantage Point Bar! Sundays from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, the VBP Football Menu will be available. Enjoy free chips and salsa along with some fantastic drink specials. Bring the whole family, and join your friends to cheer for your favorite football teams all season!

Two Day Camp, October 10th & 11th

What better way to spend your days off from school than coming to Horseshoe Bend CC’s TWO DAY FUN CAMP?! On October 10 and 11th from 9:00am to 3:30pm, there will be two days action-packed with games, crafts, activities, and fun. There will be a scavenger hunt around the Tennis & Swim Clubhouse, games on the tennis courts, and lunch provided each day. The price of this event is $100 for members and $125 for non-members. If you can’t make it both days, daily prices are $65 per day for members and $75 per day for non-members. Reservations are a must for this event, so make yours today through the Member Portal or by calling 770-810-0972. Cancellations made after October 7th will be charged.

Family Pumpkin Carving, October 16th

Halloween is right around the corner, so join us on Sunday, October 16th at Horseshoe Bend CC to carve pumpkins and celebrate! From 3:00-5:00pm there will be pumpkins, cookies, and punch galore for everyone. Wear orange and black, and come to the Tennis & Swim Clubhouse to see your friends, and get excited for Halloween.
