Uncertain Manifesto 3

There is an expression: ‘to make a slip of the tongue’. Indeed, sometimes a word will come out of my mouth and overtake my thoughts or express something I wasn’t thinking. This word might be clumsy, disagreeable, vulgar, hostile, violent. It upsets me. It embarrasses, shocks the person I’m talking to. I regret it. I’m ashamed. But of what? I truly wasn’t thinking of that word. It doesn’t belong to me. The word that slipped out isn’t entirely a mistake. I won’t admit it has any connection to my unconscious. It’s a word too many. That’s all I need: excess words.
