Get Ready for Vacation Bible School! August 12 – 16, 3 PM – 6 PM We’re excited to announce our theme for this summer’s Vacation Bible School – To Mars and Beyond! Explore favorite Bible stories in light of God’s wonderful universe. VBS is open to kids of all ages (children entering grade Pre-K and younger are welcome with a parent or guardian). We play games, do science experiments, sing songs, and, of course, make crafts! Dinner is provided every night for kids and volunteers.

We also need your help to make this happen – between station leaders, set up, providing decorations and food – and so much more. Visit our website ( www.chebeagueumc.org/vbs ) for more information, for registration forms, and to learn how you can help make this year’s VBS the most successful we’ve had so far!

Food Pantry Items — Our food pantry is always in need of donations (both monetary and foodstuff) to help our island neighbors. Some items that we find get distributed quickly are: products with low/no salt or low/no sugar, nut butters, gluten free items, and decaf and regular coffee. Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up an extra item or two to donate to your island food pantry! (As a reminder, we are unable to distribute items that are open or expired).

Miss a Sunday in Worship? You can always visit our website at www.chebeagueumc.org and click on the link to read Pastor Melissa’s recent sermons. You can also find out what’s going on by checking out the church calendar or our current events page – all available from the front page of our website.

Church Library — We’ve started a library in the back room of the Parish House! Our collection includes Bibles, spiritual classics, writings from modern day authors, and everything in between. If you would like to donate (or borrow!) from the library, contact the church office or stop by the Parish House to take a look!

Online Giving — As you look at your charitable giving, prayerfully consider adding CUMC to your list. Our buildings, programs and community events – from Sunday worship to our music ministry to our food pantry and community support programs, as well as the ability to host weddings and funerals and community gatherings, are funded primarily through your gifts. Your financial contributions are tax-deductible. Visit our website ( http://www.chebeagueumc.org/donate.html ) to give online.
