Thank You Letters

“The secrets of life are not shown except to sympathy and likeness.” Ralph Waldo Emerson It’s during this time that we learn how important community is. I so appreciate your kindness, prayers, support and sympathy during this time in our lives. Also, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Sam Birkett for the beautiful poem she shared with me. It was heartfelt by my family and fitting for my dad’s life as we returned him to City Island, his childhood home. Sincerely, The Paradise Family Thank you to a Good Samaritan On May 5, I had just started unloading packages at the CTC Route 1 parking lot when I fell flat onto the concrete. My left toe had caught in one of the soft handles of a cooler bag, my first package to be unloaded. A very nice man brought me paper towels and water and then proceeded to unload the rest of my packages. When I realized I should go to Mercy’s express care facility on Route 1, (a good idea as I needed 2 stitches in my lip) this nice man offered to shepherd my packages to the Stone Pier. Unfortunately, in my state of mind we never introduced ourselves; so, I don’t know who to thank. Thus, this public thanks to my Good Samaritan. Gwendolyn Stevens

TAKE AN ANTIQUE IRONING BOARD AND TURN IT INTO A BAR! PAINT A BEACH SCENE ON A TIRED TABLE! TURN A CRIB INTO A HANGING DAY BED! REUSE OLD THINGS IN NEW WAYS, AND HELP THE COMMONS AND OUR PLANET! ALL PROCEEDS GO TO ISLAND COMMONS.
