Recompense Fund News

The Recompense fund realizes that nonprofits may face special opportunities or emergencies outside our Fund’s annual grant cycle. Each year we offer small grants of $500 each, up to a total of $2500 of the Fund’s annual budget for grants.

for refreshments and presentations of the 2019 grants awarded to our nonprofits. This is an opportunity to hear their stories and learn more about how their work creates sustainability in our island community.

This year we have had three $500 requests and are happy to say that a group from the Historical Society was able to attend an Island Institute I Lead two day program with help from one of those grants. We heard that it was a great opportunity and they learned a lot that will help sustain their organization.

When you read this, all grant submittals for this year’s major grant program will have been submitted and within the next few weeks awards will be decided. We hope you will all join us on July 6 th to the Niblic from 3-5 p.m. Town Meeting Town of Chebeague Island Annual Town Meeting, starting at 9:00AM, at the Chebeague Island Hall, Town Warrants available at the Town office.
