Take the Eco-Challenge! Sign up for the 30 Day Plastic-Free Water Bottle Challenge! Commit to not using any plastic disposable water bottles from November 14 to December 12.

BYOB : Bring Your Own Bottle. You can fill it up with water on the golf course, gym, pool, beach. Filtered water refill machines are available at various locations in our club. Disposable cups are available if you forget your container. Insulated cups and thermos bottles can be purchased at stores like CVS, Walgreens, Target, Publix, Amazon and our Fitness Center. Water bottled in plastic is neither as pure nor as healthy as you may think. It tends to be more acidic than is ideal for our bodies and studies show that it is laden with micro-plastics. Let’s make wiser choices for our bodies and for the environment.

* 1 million plastic bottles are thrown away every minute.

* Every minute, an entire garbage truck’s worth of plastic pollution is dumped into our oceans.

* Plastics are suffocating our marine life and polluting coastal communities around the world.

Make a personal commitment to join in this challenge! Sign up on the boards available in the Fitness Center and Golf Sign-up area. At the end of the month, pick up your sticker “I DID IT! " I completed the Eco-Challenge.” and be included in a photo collage with others who have also done so. Yes, this is a personal challenge and i s also one that will make everyone at Frenchman’s more aware and responsible about using less plastic water bottles for the future. Our community has always been at the cutting edge of innovation. Here is one more way we can continue to be a leader in lifestyle awareness and appeal. Other clubs have already begun initiatives like this one. It’s good for us, for our children and grandchildren and for the Earth.
