BATANGA MEXICO, JALISCO Batanga Tequila is crafted by Casa Orendain, founded in 1926 and recognized as one of the four founding families of the modern tequila industry. Our award-winning tequila is made with 100% blue Weber agave using old-world methods passed down for generations. Our hand-harvested agave piñas are cooked in traditional-style masonry brick ovens, imparting nuances of cinnamon, clove, and other warming spices from the process of caramelizing sugars. Double Gold NY World Wine & Spirits Competition ‘19 CASA MEXA MEXICO, JALISCO Mexa Ancestral Blanco Tequila is a collaborative project with Marco Jauregui, a fourth-generation tequila producer whose ancestors started farming agaves in the lowlands of Jalisco in the early 1900s. Mexa Tequila is known for its dedication to quality and traditional production methods, including the use of a tahona, a large volcanic stone wheel used to crush cooked agave, in the production process. Tequila Mexa Ancestral 104PF / 750ML Ancestral is the only tequila in several hundred years to be hand macerated. Oak mallets impart a unique woody flavor, and no agave flavor is lost to machinery. brick ovens before being crushed by the tahona wheel. The use of the Tahona method is a rare and traditional practice that results in tequila with a unique flavor profile that sets it apart from less traditional tequilas. The resulting juice is then fermented using natural yeast and distilled in copper pot stills to preserve the natural flavors and aromas of the agave.
