Office Hours — We are open Monday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As always, if you need assistance at other times, please don’t hesitate to call (846-3148) and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We will be closed Friday November 11 in observance of Veterans’ Day and November 24 and 25 in observance of Thanksgiving. Fire Permits — Burn permits are available at the Town Office when Gloria Brown is working. You may also get a fire permit online at www.maineburnpermit.com .

Volunteer Opportunities —We are still looking for an Animal Control Officer . This position does require certification within six months of appointment. Volunteers are also needed for the newly established Health Care Advisory Ad-Hoc Committee . The purpose of this committee is to begin the work of creating a Health Care Advisory Committee, subject to approval at a future Town Meeting. The committee shall consist of seven members who shall serve without compensation and shall be appointed by the municipal officers such that the committee has the following representation: one member of the Board of Selectmen or the Town Administrator, one member from the Island Commons Resource Center, one member from the Chebeague Island Council, two members currently or formerly professionally engaged in health care activities, and two members at large. Applications are available on the town’s website ( www.townofchebeagueisland.org ) and in the town office. Planning Board — The Planning Board is currently working on amendments to the Land Use Ordinance. Planning Board agendas are posted on our website.

Dog Licenses— Dog tags are now available. Failure to license your dog before January 31, 2017, will result in an additional $25.00 late fee. Voting — You may still register to vote in person at the Town Office or at the polls November 8.

Transfer Station Hours— Please remember that the Transfer Station hours change on November 6, 2016, when daylight saving time ends. We will no longer be open Monday and Thursday morning, and we will close at 4:00 p.m. on the days when the Transfer Station is open.
