FOCUS ON CHILDREN

E xploring and playing outdoors is fantastic and promotes a happy, healthy and strong individual. Here at Dinky Di Children’s Learning Centre, we believe that providing children with the opportunity to spend time outdoors allows every child the chance to develop in more ways than one could ever imagine. With this in mind, we ensure outdoor play is a core focus of our daily routine. By spending extended periods of time outdoors, children can learn, explore, connect, experiment and understand the world we live in. As Educators, we see it as a great opportunity to teach the children about such things as weather, animals, plants, seasons and so much more. The opportunities are endless! We wish to foster each child’s abilities and current stage of development as we provide a natural and safe environment that has both free range and permanent structures while encouraging social skills and peer friendship. As unstructured play is available, children are encouraged to be creative and make use of their imagination. It’s beautiful to observe a child’s unique and individual personality as it shines through when one can include their very own interest, talents, skills, and ideas into their very own play. By experiencing outdoor play and taking part in physical activity, a child can take chances, risks and learn about their abilities. They may discover how high they can climb, how confident they are in balance, how fast they can run or if they can catch a ball. All things that only an outside environment can well and truly provide. Not to mention that throughout all these activities a child is further developing those smaller (fine motor) and larger (gross motor) muscles within the body as well as cardiovascular endurance. All of huge importance for a happy and healthy lifestyle. Dinky Di Children’s Learning Centre is proud of the environment in which is provided to the children and can see that the amount of exploration that can be done is endless. We feel like a centre we can provide and fulfil your child’s basic needs both inside the classroom and out, as they will be able to feel a sense of adventure, freedom and simply just being given the opportunity to be a child. outdoor play
