Hello...from the Rotary Club of Kincumber. We’d like to introduce ourselves and let you know who we are and what we do in Rotary. partnership with Channel 9 and the `National Farmers’ Federation’

Rotary is a global network of community volunteers established 113 years ago.

There are now more than 1.2 million men and women in over 200 countries and 35,660 Rotary Clubs, 14 of which are on the Central Coast. Rotary club members are simply citizens of good standing who meet regularly to plan and implement community service activities and network.

We organized ceremonies (on the Central Coast and in Canberra) to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the sinking of HMAS Patricia Cam as a result of a Japanese air attack. The Pat Cam was built at the Palermo Shipyard (Daleys Point) The annual 4 Villages Walk through the 4 villages of Kincumber, Yattalunga, Saratoga and Davistown. Other initiatives include supporting both inbound and outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students, youth driver awareness, science education and youth leadership programs.

FIND THE RIGHT PLANT FOR YOUR GARDEN Find a Plant- is a great online tool that helps you find a plant for your garden by simply picking your site conditions and kind of plant attributes and you will be given a list of plants that are suitable to meet your criteria. When planning your plant selection the most important thing to consider is how high and wide the plants you choose are going to grow. Planting large plants in unsuitable areas can be a costly disaster. Consider the form of the plants you choose. How will they grow into the area you choose for them? Plants will grow into forms and shapes as they mature - columns, weeping, climbing, creeping, and oval. How does this fit with their permanent home? Use plant textures to give your garden light and shade. Texture relates to the thickness and colours of the leaves. The rule is to use lighter textured plants more densely than those with coarser textures. Think about how your plants change with the seasons - fruit, colour, and foliage. Are your plants insect and disease resistant? What type of light do they need to thrive in your garden? How much water do your plants need to survive? Are your plants drought resistant? What type of soil preparation do you need to do for your new plants? Try this great tool now at: www.homedesigndirectory.com.au
