UCL Review 2015 16

Kettering Elite though, were proving a model of consistency after their indifferent start. County cup progress left them with ground to make up though and when they travelled to runaway leaders AFC Kempston on 23 rd April they trailed the Walnut Boys by thirteen points with five matches in hand. A win would have won the championship for Kempston but the Poppies shaded a feisty encounter 3-2 and went on to win their games in hand to clinch the crown with a 4-0 victory at MK College Elite on 14 th May, Niall Duffy scoring three and Jonny Joyce one. At the other end of the division Yaxley deserve credit for completing their fixtures despite some huge reverses. They lost all 22 matches, conceding 161 goals, but were unlucky to have wins over Wellingborough and Bedford expunged after their victims dropped out of the league.
