First Mates Mention May 2018

Hi Ladies: Opening weekend is just weeks away. Working weekends are well underway. Lots to do to get our clubhouse ready for opening weekend. If you’re able, please join us. Remember this date, First Mate Fashion Show, Sunday May 6, 2018 at Barrister Gardens. Tickets are $37 which includes luncheon and open bar. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. for shopping, raffles, 50/50 and door prizes. Please contact Jill Romantz for reservations if you haven’t already @ rromatz69comcast.net/586-265-7793. Donations are welcome for the raffle as well as monetary donations. Monetary donations should be made payable to Shelley Sweier. Any questions or you would like to volunteer for this day please contact Shelley Sweier, Fashion Show Chairperson 248-330-2141. Our First Mates General Membership meeting is scheduled for Saturday May 26th in clubhouse (sorry I had the wrong date in previous first mates mention) at 10:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast being served at 9:30 a.m. Any new First Mate Members can pay dues on this day. Following the First Mates General Membership meeting will be the First Mates of NCYC “Annual Fitting Out Patio Party from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. All are welcome!! (See flyer in the this months Beacon for details). All First Mate members are asked to bring an appetizer to share in a disposable container for easy cleanup. Also please don’t forget to help support the First Mates by purchasing the “specialty drink” that will be available during the patio party for $2.00 a glass. As well as appetizers and drinks we will have the the band “Wowee” playing music for us at the Patio party from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and then again after the General Membership meeting from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a “Basket of Cheer” for raffle with tickets being sold 5 for $10 on Friday and Saturday. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Ladies Week June 10th - June 15th, 2018. Its a great time for all ladies to relax and enjoy the island and get to know one another.
