OUR PHILOSOPHY BUILDS SUCCESS

Dimeo approaches each project with a strong emphasis on team integration, collaboration and planning. We recognize that the planning and design process is a unique opportunity for a team to shape the overall outcome of a project. The team’s initial efforts to understand and organize the project as one cohesive entity is a major determination of later success - during construction and throughout a building’s useful life. We help facilitate this by engag- ing in an effort to understand each participants expectations and concerns and then work to structure alignment among the team on a wide range of key project tenets. The expertise of Dimeo’s plan- ning process sets in motion the processes to assure a best val- ue, highly predictable outcome during construction.

The 50-year old Essex elementary school underwent renova- tions and an addition to bring the facility up to modern codes and accommodate the student population. The project faced numerous challenges, including an addition that was a signifi- cant modification from the original scope. The classrooms were initially to be expanded but latent conditions caused the ad- dition to be a better alternative. Despite the schedule being cut from 20 months to 12 months before bidding, the scope change to include the addition, and the removal/replacement of a 10,000 gallon fuel tank, the project was still completed within the voter-approved budget.
