ED TECH APPROPRIATIONS: $1,865,115

Of the $7,099,160 appropriated in S.B. 2964, the sum of $3,460,000 is utilized to offset education technology needs of the Board and colleges. For FY18, $1,865,115 was allocated to the eLearning & Instructional Technology Division and $1,594,885 was allocated to the Information Services Division. For FY18, MSVCC participating colleges were charged $12.00 per MSVCC host course enrollment. Effective July 1, 2018, a $0.90 cent fee per SCH per semester will be assessed to each college by the MCCB for the purpose of funding contractual obligations and services utilized by the Colleges. Of the $176,759.08 collected from USM at a rate of 70% tuition and $12.00 MSVCC assessment fee, a total of $173,747.08 was allocated to the colleges providing courses. The remaining $3,012 was utilized by the eLearning & Instructional Technology Division to offset contractual obligations and services.

MSVCC PARTNERSHIP FEES: $3,012

In Fiscal Year 2018, $3,541,541.01 (90%) of the budget was utilized for services that directly support teaching and learning through contractual services (75%) and subsidies, loans & grants (15%). The remaining $368,414.25 (10%) is considered operating expenses which includes salaries (9%), travel (<1%), commodities (<1%), and equipment (<1%).
