CHORAL SCHOIARS
The University of San Diego Choral Scholars began their year under the direction of new faculty member Stephen Sturk. Sturk brings a · wealth of musical expertise to USD havng been a ensemble director at the Julliard School, a church choir director at St. John the Divine in New York, a singer on the "Beauty and the Beast" soundtrack, and a backup singer for James Taylor in the 1970s. In its third year of existence, the Choral Scholars continue to be a popular draw at events such as the Homecoming Game, Festival of Lessons and Carols, the Concert at Noon series in the French Parlor, and various other university functions. With only two seniors, Katie Wilson and Robert Benda, graduating this year, the Choral Scholars still has a large pool of talent to draw from. However, a search was being conducted for replacements to fill their gifted shoes.
