Sigma Chi Theta Lambda Chapter

Sigma Chi has been the leader among the fraternities with leading members of the Interfraternity Council, as well as Associated Students. The chapter also boasts one of the highest GPAs of any campus organizations. Social events spon– sored by Sigma Chi such as the Haloween party, San Felipe, "Sucking inthe 70's", and the Sweetheart Ball. Community ser– vice activities also played an important role in the fraternity philosophy. This is demonstratedby the successwith the "Giv– ing Tree" and other activities to help those less fortunate . The success of the chapter is attributed to the strength of the brother– hood, which is synonymous with SIGMA CHI.

The Theta Lambda chapter of SIGMA CHI Fraternity at the University of San Diego was established on May 20, 1984. It is the 188th chapter of the international fraternity and one of the four social fratenities on campus. The intent of the chapter is to promote the ideals of "friend– ship, justice and learning" by providing opportunity for personal development and lifelong bonds of true brotherhood. Cur– rently the chapter is celebrating its first decade on the USD community. During these past years, the ThetaLambda chap– ter has become an integral part of the USD campus placing emphasis on leadership, friendship, scholarship, and community service.
