ITSHOWYOUPLAYTHEGAME The USD men's soccer team concluded its 1993 season with a 3-2 NCAA second round loss to Cal State Fullerton in front of 3,615 fans at Torero Stadium USD finished 14-7 overall, and in the WCC. San Diego led all conference schools with five selections to the All-WCC First Team: Seniors Toby Taitano, David Beall, goalkeeper Scott Garlick, Roger Lindqvist, and sophomore Guillermo Jara. Senior midfielder Kevin Legg was named to the All-WCC Second Team. Preseason All-Americans Roger Lindqvist and Guillermo Jara helped the Toreros at both ends of the field this year. Lindqvist has twice received tournament defensive MVP honors. The season for the Toreros was not as smooth as last year. There was obviously some disappointment after the second round loss. It wasn't how the team expected to end their year. It will be difficult to predict what is in store for the men next year, because of the loss of many seniors. Coach McFadden states: "It's been that kind of year for us, we're not sure which team is going to show up. We had some great victories and people like Toby and Beall really stepped up this year. It's going to be difficult replacing seven seniors."
