Meet The Toreros --------~13 Josh Brisco returns for his fourth year and 3rd season of competition... he will again compete for playing time on the defensive side of the ball at defensive back... last year appeared in 10 contests where he totaled 39 stops (29 solo) with 3 pass breakups and !forced fumble ... he tallied a season-best 9 stops in win over Valparaiso... garnered All-PFL honorable mention honors... in 2003 he appeared in 7 contests and finished with 7 tackles... prior to USO he prepped at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson, Arizona where he lettered in both football and track & field ... as a running back earned 1st Team All-Region honors for club that went 9-1 and were Keno Region 4A champions... he rushed for over 700 yards on 80 carries... in track & field he placed 2nd in the state in discus and 5th in the 100 meters his senior year... chose USD for football program and location of campus... also recruited by Occidental and Willamette. Major: Communications; Minor: Spanish.

Scott Cooper enters his fourth year at USO and third in competition... he is projected to start again in the secondary for the Toreros... last year played in all 11 games finishing 6th on the team with 41 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble and 1

fumble recovery... started USO career at receiver... in 2003 he caught seven passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns ... had a 24 yard TD reception against Holy Cross... caught an 18 yard pass for a TD against Drake... redshirt in 2002... prepped at Foothill HS where he caught 45 receptions for 900 yards his senior year on way to earning 2nd Team All-East Bay Athletic League honors... selected team's Best Receiver senior year with team going 9-1-1 ... junior year went 11-1 with team winning NCS Championship... also lettered in basketball... born on December 31, 1983 in Santa Rosa, CA... chose USD for its weather, location, academics and sports program... also recruited by UC Davis and Linfield. Major: Business Administration.

James Dunne enters his second season at USD... last year came off the bench to see action with the offensive line unit in 10 games... projected to compete for starting role

in 2005 ... transferred from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California (dropped program after 2003 season) ... a 2002 redshirt for the Gaels, he saw action for SMC during the 2003 campaign with the offensive line unit. .. he prepped at Pioneer High School where he garnered first team all-league honors in 2001 (team reached CCS Finals) and honorable mention status in 2000 (team reached CCS Semi-Finals) ... was a Central Coast Section Honorable Mention selection in 2000 ... was a team captain his senior year and garnered Most Inspirational honors, both as a junior and senior. .. also lettered in basketball where he earned Most Inspirational honors. Major: Art & Com–

munications. Kyson Hawkins enters his junior year where he will again start at linebacker.. .last year played in 8 games but missed last 3 with knee injury.. . still ranked 2nd on team in tackles with 73 stops (44 solo)... four games with double digit tackles including season-best 14

twice (Holy Cross & Princeton)... two-time PFLHonor Roll selection.. . in 2003 he contributed 9 tackles and 1fumble recovery (vs. La Verne)... best game came in win over Butler where he totaled 5 stops (2 solo)... came to USD via Fallbrook HS where in his senior year he totaled 130 tackles and was tabbed the Co-Defensive Player of the Year and All-CIF with team going 8-4 and advancing to CIF Semifinals... during his junior campaign earned All-League and honorable mention All-CIF honors with team winning League Championship... during sophomore campaign was member of 11-2 squad that won the CIF Championship... born on August 11, 1985 in Weiset, Idaho... chose USO for the chance to play football while gaining an exceptional education... also recruited by San Diego State, Colorado State, Georgetown and UC Davis... is a Deans' List member and Presidential Scholar... notes that he is happy with his decision to come to USO. Major: Business Administration; Minor: Accounting/Business Law.

Kyson Hawkins #46 JR LB

Robert Jones enters his fourth year at USO and third season of competition where he will continue to compete for playing time at outside linebacker... last year played in a reserve role where he chipped in with 3 tackles and I pass breakup... in 2003 he chipped in with 14 tackles (7 solo) and two passes defended... had a season high five tackles (three solo) and one pass defended against Marist... totaled four tackles in game against Drake... redshirted in 2002... prepped at Verbum Dei High School where he played under Coach Lalo Mendoza... also lettered in track and baseball at Verbum Dei... born on April 20, 1984 in Bellflower, CA... also recruited by Arizona State and Penn... chose USO for its academic and athletic excellence... enjoys watching reality television. Major: Engineer– ing; Minor: Mathematics.

Chase McBride enters his second season at USD after transferring from USC . .. projected starter again in Torero secondary... last season started first four games but was lost for

rest of season with knee injury.. . earned PFL Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 12th) after totaling l O tackles and returning an interception 84 yards for a TD in win at Holy Cross... did not play football in 2003... during the 2002 season was a first-year freshman walk-on safety on the USC squad that finished 11 -2 and won the Orange Bowl . .. from nearby Solana Beach, he prepped at Santa Fe Christian where he played for Brian Sipe ... senior year rushed for over 1,000 yards with team going 12-0 and winning CIF and State Championship . .. named All-State, All-CIF and All-Coastal League ... also lettered in basketball and golf, earning All-League and All-CIF honors in basketball ... chose to transfer to USO for academics and chance to play football again . .. out of high school was recruited by USC, Cal, Colorado State and Ivy League programs. Major: Business.
