Department Director must approve the request for purchase in writing. Approval of the employee’s purchase request will be based on the operating requirements of the department. 5.3 The minimum amount of PLWOP that may be approved each year is three days (24 hours) for a full time employee and for part time employees as follows: PT 20, twelve (12) hours; PT 25, fifteen, (15) hours; PT 30, eighteen (18) hours. 5.4 The maximum amount of leave that can be approved annually is the greater of 40 hours or the difference between the employee’s normal annual leave earning rate and the maximum annual leave earning rate for an employee with 20 years of service. The maximum for part time employees are pro-rated according to scheduled hours. The following charts reflect the maximum amount of leave that may be purchased based on current earning rates for both full time and part time employees. FULL TIME
