Join early career, high-potential managers from corporate, mid-market and family firms across a wide range of industries as you prepare to capitalise on the opportunities that the emerging landscape is presenting. Module one

Introduction and coaching with MU (Mercuri Urval), online Approx. 8 hours Includes orientation of the programme, introductions and content consumption. You will undertake a personal inventory of your leadership values and skills with our partner MU, a pioneer in the predictive assessment of people.

Module two

Module three

Awareness and development of business leadership skills, face-to-face Five days residential This module focuses on blending professional development and personal growth. You will develop a wider business perspective and clearer strategic knowledge that deepens your understanding of self, stakeholders and business functions, providing the building blocks of essential business knowledge and personal development.

Awareness and development of organisational and interpersonal leadership skills, face-to-face Five days residential Re-drawing the boundaries of your influence to enable you to; work beyond your preferred routines and comfort zone; inspire change across the business, outside of your normal area of expertise and authority and build relationships up, down, across and outside of your business.

Sessions in module three include: • Strategic business challenge, • Emotional intelligence, • Social capital and networks, • Organisational power and politics, • Understanding organisational culture and change, • Organisational maturity, • Communication and influencing skills, • Conflict and resilience, • Values and beliefs, • Skills practice - challenging conversations.

You will explore: • The world beyond the horizon, • Strategies - competitive, marketing, operations, • Finance and capital project evaluation, • Supply chain sustainability, • Organisational leadership, • Team leadership and engagement, • Strategic decision making, • Developing your managerial potential, • Developing your coaching style.

You will also identify a strategic business issue that you will work on throughout the programme.

You will also formulate a three-month development action plan and engage in reflective discussions throughout.

Six month progress review day, face-to-face One day Three months after you complete module three, we invite you back to Cranfield to review the progress you have made against your action plans. You will then use these learnings as a platform to formulate ambitious development targets.

12 month continuing development review day, face-to-face One day

To support your continuing development, we invite you back to Cranfield for a 12 month review day, to reflect on the long-term impact of your development on you and your businesses. We’ll also support you in managing your personal development and to plan the next phase of your leadership career.

Programme philosophy The programme content is delivered over three modules as part of an immersive learning and growth experience. Between modules you will apply your learning back in the workplace while working on plans for your business area, supported by peer-to-peer coaching and formal coaching from the programme director and MU. Ongoing coaching Throughout your Cranfield experience you will benefit from executive coaching which is focused on your growth as a leader and integrated into the programme structure including face-to-face reviews after 6 and 12 months of starting the programme. Individual organisational project You will identify and execute a real life project that adds value to your organisation. Your line manager’s involvement at crucial stages ensures your proposal is both actionable and achievable. Business simulation – learn by doing You will work with a group of fellow participants to assess complex situations relating to a fictitious commercial business and make strategic decisions, enabling you to put into practice what you learn.

Professional development To broaden your perspective on management, the programme will focus on a range of organisational functions and the leadership skills they demand to deliver results, including:

Personal growth To develop your ability to influence without authority, this programme incorporates psychometric assessments, alongside individual coaching and personal development, to determine and maximise your leadership style. You’ll develop a range of organisational and interpersonal leadership skills. Programme Director

Philippa Thurgur BA (Hons) MSc Philippa has extensive experience in designing and directing successful executive development initiatives for middle and senior managers, enabling them to develop a broader organisational perspective and accelerate their personal development, particularly in their general management leadership and team capabilities. Philippa’s experience includes programme directing executive development interventions for a wide range of clients in a broad range of sectors, from SMEs to large global organisations across Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA, many of whom are undertaking significant organisational change.
