Planting Churches among the City's Poor - Volume 1

P ART I: D EVELOPING U RBAN C ONGREGATIONS • 57

“friends in Christ” become the foundation for cell groups that are the forerunners of the established church.

In summary, evangelism begins with motivation inspired by love for Christ and others that produces a zeal to obey the Great Commission. It is implemented through the use of culturally appropriate methods of communication. 95 And it is covered throughout by continuing, urgent prayer. The dynamic of evangelism: converts sharing their faith with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers, must continue throughout all the stages of church planting.
