Engineering

 Streamlined our approach to carrying out illegal dumping clean-up resulting in a savings of over $400,000/year;  Completed an Operations inventory audit with a goal of reducing annual losses of unaccounted materials and equipment. Implemented controls to significantly reduce annual losses by over 85%;  Implement an in-house Crack Sealing Operation resulting in a cost effective and efficient means of repairing road cracks before progressing to more serious road surface issues; and  Implemented 4 water fill stations incorporating electronic pay stations.

 The Conveyancing Section, in support of the activities of Realty, Land Development and the Tax Department, processed and registered in excess of 2,230 documents at the Land Title Of- fice, representing a 27% increase over 2015;  Registered 510 statutory rights-of-way for the Land Development Division, including liaison with the development community, representing a 21% in- crease over 2015;  Prepared typical project schedule for Engineering component of overall land development process and piloted on several projects to establish clear, realistic expectations and accountabilities including milestones;  Received Canadian Open Data Summit for Democracy Award and Canadian Open Data Excellence Award 2016;

EDUCATION & CULTURE

 Created dedicated web mapping applications for: United Way Avenues of Change, Street Light Replacement Program, Cultural Corridor, Survey Road Tenure, and Survey Jobs; and  Received top award from the Public Works Association of BC for hosting the Best National Public Works Week event in the Province.

 Completed the sale of City lands to SFU in support of the University’s Engineering Science Building in the City Centre;  Rolled out Engineering land development project feedback form to measure client satisfaction and seek improvement;
