FUTURE INITIATIVES, GOALS & OBJECTIVES

INCLUSION

 Seek opportunities to strengthen relationships with partners to facilitate integration of newcomers.

 Work with aboriginal community to improve access to programs and services;  Enhance access to multilingual resources by cataloguing Chinese Collection; and

PUBLIC SAFETY

 Improve programs and partnerships to improve access to vulnerable populations.

 Create a more coordinated approach to delivering services beyond the library walls; and

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY & LIVELIHOODS

 Launch a digitization station that ena- bles the conversion of analog content, such as VHS tapes into a digital format.

 Strengthen creative economy by promoting work of local authors through programs and online services; and

EDUCATION & CULTURE

 Strengthen digital literacy skills through an array of programs aimed at children.

 Promote the value of learning by hosting the Grand Reading Link Challenge;  Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Surrey Library’s Young Adult Writing Contest; and

INFRASTRUCTURE

 Refurbish Newton and Fleetwood Libraries.

 Plan for a new library in Clayton;  Advocate for more library services in underserved areas, such as Grandview Heights; and
