2016 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

BUILT ENVIRONMENT & NEIGHBOURHOODS

 Continued the development of servicing strategies for the Abbey Ridge LAP, Redwood Heights NCP, Newton Town Centre LAP and City Centre NCP.

ECONOMIC PROSPERITY & LIVELIHOODS

 Reduced unaccounted water loss through water pressure management by reducing the hydraulic grade line in all pressure zones in the City; and

 Completed leak detection pilot survey on 168 km of water mains.

EDUCATION & CULTURE

 Updated and enforced the City’s Water Shortage Response Plan; and

 Completed water conservation education in 150 school classes.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

 Achieved over 95% compliance of the annual testing of backflow preventers; and

 Initiated a pilot project to monitor the chlorine residual in the water distribution system.

INFRASTRUCTURE

 Worked with Metro Vancouver on the construction of Port Mann 2 nd Fraser River crossing; and

 Replaced 11 km of aging water mains.
