ReTrak TM Chin Strap Installation

Chin Strap Installation Step 1: Remove chin strap components from bag. Step 2: For both the left and right chin strap anchor blocks, slide wave spring, followed by the washer, on post nearest the two screw holes (See Figure 1). Step 3: Fit Visor Retainer over top of posts. Ensure that the left retainer is used on the left anchor block and vice-versa for the right – all components marked “L” and “R” for identification. The washer should now be resting within the curved channel located on the retainer. Step 4: Using two of the smaller 4-40 screws, screw the left anchor block and retainer to the left side of the helmet inner liner (See Figure 1). Repeat previous steps for attaching right side chin strap anchor block and retainer to right side inner liner. Step 5: Place inner liner with attached chin strap inside the outer shell. Each of the three screw holes on the anchor blocks should line up with the corresponding holes on the outer shell. Step 6: Using the six 8-32 screws, attach the inner liner to the outer shell via the chin strap anchor blocks. • For UST ReTrak helmets, the two front screws on each side will screw into the anchor block cap, and the back screw into the acorn nut and washer. All screws will come in from the bottom of the outer shell (See Figure 2). • For FX/PX ReTraks, all three screws will come in from the top of the outer shell and screw into the chin strap anchor block itself (See Figure 3).
