9 #12 ERIC RASMUSSEN Senior Quarterback Eric Rasmussen returns for his senior campaign where he will again be the starting quarterback after earning Honorable Mention AII-PFL honors the past two seasons ... last season he finished 1st in the nation in I-AA passing efficiency (164.2 rating) ... he set USD records for yards passing in a game (395 vs. Valpo), touchdown passes thrown in a game (7 vs. Val po), completions in a season (170) and completion percentage in a season (.609) ... for the year he completed 170-of-279 passes for 2,470 yards, 25 TDs and just I interception ... against Drake he completed 23-32 passes for353 yards and5 TDs ... against La Verne he completed 9-of-11 passes for299 yards

and 4 TDs ... he passed for 225 or more yards in seven games ... he was selected USD's Offensive Player of the Year, and twice earned PFL Player of the Week honors ... he was honorable mention All- America in Don Hansen's Football Gazette ... for the second straight

year he was named PFL All-Academic and to the PFL Honor Roll .. . during hi s sophomore campaign he started all nine contests, completing 147-of-254 passes for 2,035 yards and 15 touchdowns ... he was named the PFL Offensive Player of the Week for hi s September 29th performance in the team's 31-24 victory over Drake - he completed 2 l-of-30 passes for 299 yards and 3 scores ... he passed for three touchdowns in three different contests, all Torero victories (Redlands, Drake and Fairfield) ... he threw for 200+ yards in six different contests, including 282 yards against Butler and 255 yards against Dayton ... he earned the team's Scholar Athlete of the Year honor ... prior to USD he played at El Camino Fundamental where in hi s senior year he was selected the MVP for the Capital Athletic League ... he is holder of nine passing/running records at the high school where he was also inducted into its Hall of Fame ... also lettered in baseball where he was MVP, All-City and All-League ... also recruited by Oregon, Redlands, Cal Poly and Arizona State ... chose USD for its football program, location and strong academics .. . his father Terry played quarterback at Chico State ... Preseason All-America Team ... last season he earned First Team All -PFL honors after hauling in a team-high 57 receptions for 907 yards and 10 touchdowns ... he shared PFL Player of the Week honors with teammate Eric Rasmussen when he caught 8 balls, five that went for touchdowns, for 187 yards against Valparaiso ... the

5 TD receptions in a game were new USD and PFL single game records .. . he tallied two other games of 8 receptions (Butler, Dayton) and 100+ receiving yards ( 114 vs. La Verne, 102 vs. So. Oregon) ... he caught at least I TD in six different contests ... in 2001 he caught five passes for 93 yards (18.6 yards per catch) ... he caught two passes against Drake for a total of25 yards, including a 21-yard TD from QB Eric Rasmussen in the third quarter that gave USD a 31-10 lead (USD won 31-24) ... he also hauled in a 39-yarder against Butler ... prior to USD he attended Palma High School in Monterey, CA where he was a four-sport letterman and earned the school's Outstanding Senior Athlete award ... he was MVP in volleyball, and MVP Defensive Player in basketball ... chose USD for educational opportunities and football ... also recruited by Arizona and Saint Mary's ... hi s grandfather played football at Santa Clara.
