#78 ARIEL BELLOFIORE Senior OL Ariel Bellofiore returns for his second and final year with the Toreros where he will anchor the offensive line ... last year as a starting guard he was selected Honorable Mention All -Pioneer Football League ... pri or to USD he pl ayed at both Idaho and Pasadena City College ... he prepped at St. Francis Hi gh School where he was a two-time First Team All -San Gabriel Valley pi ck, two-time All -Mi ssion and a two-time First Team All – Glendale News Press selection .. . also lettered in baseball where he was First Team All -Mi ssion Conference and First Team All-San Gabriel Valley ... also recruited by Portl and State and Sacramento State ... chose USO for location and academi cs ... Adam Combs returns for hi s fourth season with the Torero defensive unit where he will start at invert ... last year ranked 4th in tackl es with 58 (32 solo) and first in QB sacks with 3 (-24 yards) .. . season-best 12 tackles vs. Western Oregon ... snared interception against Jacksonville ... had 8 solo stops against Drake ... a two-time PFL Honor Roll pick ... in 200 I he ranked fourth on the team in tackles with 52 (36 solo) ... he also contributed a team-best 4 forced fumbl es, along with 3 quarterback sacks, 7 tackles for loss (-35 yards), 3 pass break-ups, I fumbl e recovery, I blocked kick and I interception (vs. Redl ands) .. . twice he talli ed single-game bests of 8 tackles (Drake & Georgetown), and three times totaled 7 stops (Redl ands, Fairfi eld and Wagner) ... was selected 2nd Team PFL All - Academic ... also a Dean' s List honoree and Presidential Scholar .. . pri or to USD he prepped at Centennial Hi gh School where he was a three-year letterman on the football squad ... during hi s seni or year he was I st Team All - Mountain View with the team reaching the CIF quarterfinals, and was named the Defensive Player of the Year ... during his sophomore campai gn, the team advanced to the CIF Finals ... he chose USD for its locati on, beautiful campus, the people and scholastics. Chris Conroy returns for his fourth season with the Toreros where he is projected to start at defensive end ... last season totaled 26 stops (9 solo) with a season-best 5 tackles against La Verne ... for second strai ght year was named to PFL Honor Roll ; last year earned Dean's List honors ... in 2001 he tallied fi ve tackl es (all solo) and was credited with a quarterback sack (-8 yards) in the team's PFL game against Butler ... prior to USD he prepped at Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona where in hi s senior year team was state champions at 12- 1- 1 ... the team went undefeated and were champs of the Kino League ... earned team captain, All-City, All -County and All-League honors ... junior year team went 13-1 and were state fin alists with Chris earning All -League honors .. . al so lettered in baseball and track & fi eld ... was one of onl y two sophomores on state championship baseball team .. . chose USD for great weather and football program ... also recruited by Northern Ari zona and Nevada ... enj oys pl aying darts. Josh Elkins return s for his senior season with the offen sive line unit after sitting out the 2002 campaign ... he earned the 2002 Willie Jones Most Inspirational Player Award from the Nati onal Football Foundati on Hall of Fame (San Diego Chapter)- Elkins overcame numerous injuries from a near-fatal automobile acc ident in the Fall of 1998 to return to the field and classroom ... he attended all the football team meetings, practi ces and weightlifting sessions and late in the 200 l season was allowed to get in one pl ay late in the season .. . prepped at Antioch Senior HS where he earned the Gino Marceli Award for being Best Lineman hi s seni or year .. . also had successful high school wrestling career ... also recruited by Saint Mary's Coll ege and Whitti er Coll ege ... chose USD for football program, academics and location . Major: English; Minor: Business.
