CITY OF MORGAN HILL CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

Unfunded, Partially Funded and Delayed Projects

Project

Ball Field Development

Needed Funding

$18,000,000 Park Impact Fund 301

Description The City has purchased 23 acres of property south of Tennant Avenue for a future Baseball/Softball site. The project has a lower priority than other items within the Bikeways, Trails, Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The high cost associated with this project would require many years of limited or no park projects to develop adequate funding for the site. The site could be constructed in phases, once other priority projects are completed, and funding can be dedicated. Funding is not anticipated to be dedicated to this purpose within the current six-year planning period. Currently, the City is looking into the possibility of public private partnerships in the area.

Description The Police Department is currently in need of enhancements at the Police Headquarters Building. These enhancements would include upgrades to improve security at the existing facility. The Police Department Impact Fund should fund such enhancements, but all funds currently received in this area are paid towards existing debt service. The current impact fee study will include these enhancements and future expansion options.
