Project Description The Butterfield Boulevard Connector Path Project will create a green corridor for pedestrians and cyclists in the center of Morgan Hill by extending an existing urban bike and pedestrian path along one of the City's major north-south arterial roadways, and planting trees along the roadway and adjacent storm water channel while converting some of the existing roadway for greener purposes. This new bike/pedestrian path will add approximately 1.2 miles to the existing Class 1 path along Butterfield Boulevard from San Pedro Avenue to Railroad Avenue. It will connect the southeast area of the community to the amenities and major employment opportunities, which include Downtown Morgan Hill, Dunne Avenue shopping centers and the City's major employment centers. It will also connect residents in the Downtown to the new Community Garden site.

Project Justification This project was identified in the Bikeways, Trails, Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The City received a grant to cover the majority of the costs associated with this project.
