ORT Italia specialises in the design and manufacture of spline and thread rolling machines for cold, hot and semi-hot applications. The company dedicates a considerable part of its revenue to research and development, and its metrology lab and testing rooms, recently refurbished, allow performance trials and testing of new installations. The company exports over 70% of its production, and has installed over 4,000 machines worldwide. controlled by a linear encoder with a 0.001mm resolution. The head inclination is monitored in the CNC with a resolution of 0.02°. The machine is equipped with a minimum of three rolls, up to a maximum of nine, depending on the length of the piece. The straightening of sinterised camshafts is a typical application.
