Keyboarding Summative Assessment

It is recommended that all teachers conduct a summative keyboarding assessment in the spring to evaluate the level of student keyboarding mastery. This assessment will measure speed, accuracy, and technique. Use the Typing Club program to determine speed and accuracy. A 30-second timed writing in Typing Club should be used. While students are testing, evaluate and record each student's keyboarding technique using the Keyboarding Technique Checklist. While this assessment is not required, it is good practice to assess how well students have met keyboarding goals. It will also help prepare students for the required assessment they will complete in 5th grade.
