SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W INTENSIVE SUPPORT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR

£ SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support has an increased protein level to support recovery and compensate for protein catabolism and loss. The diet also contains high levels of important amino acids for recovery. Glutamine is important as energy source for enterocytes and supports the intestinal mucosa. Branched-chain amino acids can be utilised by muscles and support nitrogen bal ance. Arginine supports the immune response, nitrogen balance and wound healing. £ SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support has an increased level of zinc to support the immune response, nitrogen balance and wound healing. £ L-carnitine has been added to the diet to support maintenance of lean body mass, fatty acid oxidation and recovery of cats with hepatic lipidosis. £ Wound healing in critical patients can be improved by optimal nu tritional management. SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support con tains beta-1,3/1,6-glucans and increased levels of zinc and protein for further support of wound healing. £ Especially in anorectic patients, it is recommended to introduce SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support gradually to reach target amounts in about 5 days (day 1: 25%; day 2: 50%; day 3: 67%; day 4: 75%; day 5: 100%). £ It is recommended to serve SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support at room or body temperature and to divide the daily amount into multiple small meals per day. £ Pre-surgery use of SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support in mal nourished patients can improve the patient’s nutritional status and thereby optimise the outcome of the surgery. £ SPECIFIC TM F/C-IN-W Intensive Support is specially designed for initial nutritional restoration and convalescence by voluntary but also assisted or tube feeding. Once the patient improves and eats voluntarily it can, according to its condition, also be switched gradually to other SPECIFIC TM diets for continued support of recovery: SPECIFIC TM Digestive Support, Kitten, Puppy, C Ω D Skin Function Support or CAD Active. £ The uniquely high level of omega-3 fatty acids contributes to support in case of cachexia.
