Security There is nothing more important to us than knowing that your online financial transactions are private and secure. Our systems are secured with encryption, perimeter and internal firewalls, screening and filtering routers, intrusion detection, strict authentication, virus protection, as well as application security. Application security includes processes for issuing one-time passcodes (OTP), user lockouts due to failed login and additional encryption of sensitive user data during sessions. Our network architecture is structured so the servers that store actual account information are not directly connected to the Internet. Confidentiality Security is strengthened by your efforts in keeping all account and login data confidential. Never share your password with anyone and never include account specific details within an unsecured email. Passwords The most secure passwords are those which use a combination of both alpha and numeric characters. Avoid using easily obtained personal data within your password, such as initials and birth dates or loved ones’ names. Enhanced Login Security In addition to password security, additional security steps to verify your identity have been installed on our system called Enhanced Login Security. Part of this identification process includes recognizing the computer you normally use to access Business Online Banking. This information, coupled with your normal login details, is incorporated into your online identity profile. These additional security features are a big step in the process of creating a safe and secure online session. Sign Off If you must step away from your workstation for even a moment while using the online system, be sure to sign off from your session to ensure your account data is not reviewed or altered by unauthorized individuals. Note: For increased security, the navigation of each user’s login can be customized to display only the functions to which they have been granted access.

Positive Pay & Payee Positive Pay Byline Banks’ Positive Pay service helps your company control losses from check fraud. Because we only honor checks that match the information provided by your business, you can feel confident only authorized payments will remain paid. A default decision (e.g. “pay” or “return”) is selected at implementation. How it Works 1 Each time your company issues a check(s), an issue file must be created and sent to the bank. The file contains the check number, dollar amount, issue date and *payee name. Tip: The check issue file should be submitted to Byline Bank on the same day the checks are written. *Payee name is only required with the Payee Positive Pay service. 2 As checks are presented for payment, they are verified against your issue file. 3 Each day you will receive a report via Business Online Banking listing checks presented for payment that do not match the check issue data. This list will be delivered to you by 9:15 AM CT (known as the “notification deadline”). 4 You tell us to pay or return the suspect item(s) by logging into Business Online Banking. If we do not hear from you by 12:00 PM CT (known as the “decision deadline”), we will follow the default disposition instructions you selected during setup. 5 If requested, at the end of your statement cycle, the account reconciliation team will prepare a full or partial check reconciliation for your account.

ACH Filters Byline Bank’s ACH Filters helps your company monitor and control electronic payments coming to and from your account. You are in control by blocking all activity on an account basis, or setting up rules that determine which activity is allowed and which types of activity create an exception. Whenever an exception is noted, you will receive a notification and have the opportunity to review in Business Online Banking before making a decision to pay or return that item. When combined with Payee Positive Pay, your accounts can be protected from criminal or unauthorized activity. How it Works 1 When you set up the service, you will specify which accounts should never have ACH activity and will automatically have all debits blocked without need for any further action. Tip: Many business clients will limit the number of accounts that can accept ACH debits and block all activity from other accounts. This is a good practice for limiting risk, and also can save time monitoring activity 2 For other accounts, you may select different filters that determine which types of ACH transactions are allowed. For example, you may request exceptions over a specified dollar amount, or you may require a single approval or dual approval. 3 Each day, Byline Bank compares the ACH activity in your account to the filters you have designated. If an exception exists, you will be notified in the manner you have specified, either voice or text. 4 Once notified, securely login to Business Online Banking and view the details of the exception. You will then have a chance to decide whether to pay or return the transaction. 5 You may request to adjust your filters as needed to reflect your changing business. Byline Bank’s Customer Solutions Center is available to assist.

Partial Check Reconciliation Having Byline Bank verify your bank statements saves you valuable time and enhances your audit controls. With partial check reconciliation, Byline Bank provides a listing—either as a paper report or electronically—of all paid items during the reconciliation cycle. This list can be sorted by check serial number or by paid date. How it Works 1 Your company continues to issue checks, originate wire transfers, etc. as usual. 2 At the end of your statement cycle, the Cash Management Operations team reviews all the items that have posted to your account and will make corrections as necessary. 3 Within ten business days of your statement cutoff date, you will receive: your bank statement and a list of all paid items (available in electronic or paper format).

42 Byline Bank Business Online Banking

Full Check Reconciliation Full check reconciliation takes partial check reconciliation further by having Byline Bank perform the reconciliation process for you. With full check reconciliation, we match paid items with the items your company has issued. You will receive a report that lists the paid checks, and outstanding checks—all sorted by check serial number or paid date. All reports available for partial (paid) check reconciliation are also available for full reconciliation. How it Works 1 As your company issues checks, you provide an issue file to Byline Bank. This file contains the payee, check number, dollar amount, and issue date. 2 At the end of your statement cycle, the account reconciliation team matches paid items to the issue file and then produces a report. This report is balanced with your bank statement to ensure there are no discrepancies. 3 Within seven business days of your statement cutoff, date, you will receive the following: A.) Your bank statement B.) A list of all paid items, items paid without a corresponding issue record, called items, stop payment items, voided items and outstanding items C.) If requested, an electronic file of all items referenced above which may then be imported into your in-house accounting system

Business Online Banking continued Positive Pay Import Importing a check issue file into Business Online Banking is the fastest and most efficient method. The Positive Pay Import feature allows the importation of formatted files of issued checks directly into Business Online Banking. This is performed during initial training. Similar to attaching a file to an email, you can browse your folders, select the file containing the issue information and then securely load that information into Business Online Banking. Tip: Your Cash Management Services team can assist you in designing file names that are easy to use when referencing at future dates.

Business Online Banking continued Manual Issue You may find an occasion when you issue a check outside of your normal processing and a file is not originated. Byline provides a quick and efficient method to enter those checks. This process is best used for creating issues for a small number of checks on an infrequent basis.

On the screen, select the account you wish to issue a check. The drop- down arrow presents a listing of all the accounts you have selected for fraud management.

Enter the check number, amount, and issue date.

For Payee Positive Pay, be careful to enter the payee exactly as it appears on the check, including multiple lines if applicable. Byline’s sophisticated software reads the payee line and matches to the image of what is presented. Even small discrepancies can create an exception, costing you time and money.

Business Online Banking continued Positive Pay Approval Based on your issued and void files, Byline daily compares all items presented for payment against your information. If the information does not exactly match, an exception is created and you are required to decide if that item should be paid or returned. The Positive Pay Approval screen allows businesses to require a secondary approver for decisions to pay. This adds an additional level of security. Based on the preferences you selected, you will receive an alert via text or phone message that an exception exists on your account. Beginning at 9:15 AM every business day morning, you should log into Business Online Banking and review the Pos Pay Exceptions report. You will see the detail for the returned item and then decide whether to Pay or Return. If you decide to return, you will be asked for a reason. If you select “Fraud”, Byline Bank will take additional steps to investigate and prevent additional attacks on your and others bank accounts. Your decision is required by 12:00 Noon CT. Should you not log in and review the exception items, your Default instruction will be followed by Byline for all exception items. Tip: Byline Bank recommends that a default decision of Return is selected. This provides the best protection to your company. If an item appears in the Exception report, it does not match the issue information you submitted.
