Série de prestige qui clôt la saison de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo (OPMC), les Concerts du Palais Princier innovent cet été avec cinq rendez-vous classiques dans la Cour d’Honneur et une soirée au Grimaldi Forum avec Paul McCartney, l’ancien du groupe Beatles. Sont programmés des solistes de renom tels que Daniel Lozakovich, David Fray, Sergey Khachatryan, ainsi que les pianistes Lucas et Arthur Jussen en résidence artistique depuis septembre dernier à l’OPMC. Côté baguette, toutes les générations sont représentées avec les grands chefs Charles Dutoit et Lawrence Foster, le directeur artistique de l’OPMC Kazuki Yamada, mais également deux jeunes chefs en pleine ascension, la Néo-zélandaise Tianyi Lu et l’Autrichien Emmanuel Tjeknavorian. Cette année, un concert exceptionnel «hors les murs» sera proposé au Grimaldi Forum Monaco, sous la direction de Kazuki Yamada, avec une œuvre grandiose écrite par Paul McCartney et Carl Davis, le Liverpool Oratorio, avec la participation du CBSO Chorus.

A prestigious lineup concluding the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra’s (OPMC) season, the Prince’s Palace Concerts are innovating this summer with five classical performances in the Court of Honour and a special evening at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco featuring Paul McCartney, the former Beatles member. Renowned soloists, including Daniel Lozakovich, David Fray, Sergey Khachatryan, and pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen, who have been in an artistic residence at the OPMC since last September, are set to perform. The conducting roster encompasses all generations, showcasing renowned conductors Charles Dutoit and Lawrence Foster, OPMC Artistic Director Kazuki Yamada, and two emerging talents, New Zealander Tianyi Lu and Austrian Emmanuel Tjeknavorian. Additionally, an exceptional «off-site» concert, conducted by Kazuki Yamada, is planned at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco. It will feature the stunning Liverpool Oratorio , composed by Paul McCartney and Carl Davis, with the CBSO Chorus participating.

Pianists Lucas and Arthur Jussen will end their residency with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra by performing a concert at the Prince’s Palace on 20 July. In the stunning gardens of the Riviera, you’ll find both slender and abundant silhouettes of cacti and other succulent plants. These fascinating specimens have captivated many botanists and artists alike, making them the centrepiece of this exhibition. They were created with the Monaco Botanical Garden and the Majorelle Garden Foundation in Marrakech. This journey takes you from Eisenstein’s cinema to David Hockney’s iPad artworks, passing through the lens of photographers like Brassaï and Robert Doisneau, alongside influential figures in modern and contemporary art, including Fernand Léger, Ghada Amer, and sculptor Erik Dietman. Throughout this exploration, cacti emerge as both iconic and inspirational figures. On les croise dans les jardins remarquables de la Riviera, avec leurs silhouettes longilignes ou foisonnantes. Les cactées et autres plantes succulentes ont fasciné tant de botanistes mais aussi d’artistes, qu’elles sont les vedettes de cette exposition, imaginée avec le Jardin botanique de Monaco et la Fondation Jardin Majorelle de Marrakech. Une déambulation qui va du cinéma d’Eisenstein à la peinture à l’iPad de David Hockney, en passant par le regard photographique de Brassaï et Robert Doisneau, et les œuvres de grands noms de l’art moderne et contemporain comme Fernand Léger, Ghada Amer et le sculpteur Erik Dietman.
