KY SNYDER Executive Director of Athletics l(y Snyder was named Executive Director of Athletics at the University of San Diego on December 1Och, 2003. D r. Mary E. Lyons, USD President, introduced Snyder who returns to USD where he was Direccor of Athletic Development from 1990 co 1996. He came back co USD from the San Diego lnternational Sports Council where he held the position of President. With the San Diego lnternational Sports Council, Snyder's primary responsibili ty was co promote San Diego/Tijuana as the preferred region fo r sporting events and activities that benefit the communi ty both economically and social.ly. Accornp!jshrnents of the Sports Council bid effo rts during Snyder's tenure included securing San Diego the 1997 and 1998 ESPN Summer X Garnes, the Suzuki Rock & Roll J\farachon, the 1999 Major League Soccer All-Sta r Game, the Bank o f Arnerica/U.S. O lympic Cup, NCA/\ Divisio n I Men's Basketball f'irst & Second Round (2001) contests, the NCAA Division l Women's Volleyball Championships (2001) and Super Bowl XX)CVll.

In the spring o f 2001, Snyder was named the President o f the San Diego Super Bowl X...'C.XVll Hos t Committee. He is a member of the Board o f Directo rs o f the San Diego

Super Bowl Task f'orce. Snyder was also the Executive Direccor o f the San Diego lnternational Sports Foundation.

Prior to joining the SDISC, Snyder was the Director o f Athletic Development at the University o f San Diego fo r six years. At USD he was responsible fo r establishing the Torero Athletic Association, fun d-raising efforts fo r athletics, managing athletic special events and generating corporate sponsorship o f athletics.

At USD he oversees an athletic department with seventeen NCAA Division l intercol.legiate teams and over 400 student-athletes. He is responsible for al.I ad– ministrative, management and supervisory aspects o f the Department of Athletics. AddjtionaUy, he oversees the strategic lo ng-range planning and rnonicoring of budgets, personnel, programs, fac ilities, fundraising, promotions and marketing, and public relations for an NCAA Division I program consisting o f eight sports for men and nine sports for women. He serves on the NCAA Division I Football Rules Commi ttee and as the Corporate Co-Chair o f the J DRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Tn 2007-08, USD sent six teams co the NCAA Tourna– ment, and won the prestigious \'(ICC Commissio ner's Cup fo r the first time. T he trophy goes co the school with the top perfo rming athletics program in the eight-team \X/est Coast Conference. l e is the fi rst time USD has claimed this honor in the Cup's seven-year history.

Snyder played foo tball at San Diego State Uni\'ersicy.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from San Diego State University and has studied in the Master's Leadership Program at the University o f San D iego.

Snyder, who has been a San Diego resident for 26 years, has a very athletic family. His wife, Sue, was a fo rmer standout member o f the Unj ced Scates women's national volleyball team who played at San D iego State and also coached the Aztecs and Unj,·ersity of San D iego's women's volleyball teams. Tn addition, Snyder's fa ther, Les ter, held the position as P resident of the Un ited States Tennis Association.

T he Snyder's reside in Poway with their son Riley (age 15), daughter Sydney (age 12) and daughter Cammy (age 9).
