Council must review the request and make a recommendation to the congregation at a special business meeting. A simple majority of the church members present and voting shall dismiss a deacon.

Bylaw 4 – Officers of The Elders Council

1. Selection of Officers. Officers shall be selected by the Council by majority vote for one-year terms.

2. Chairman and Vice-chairman. The chairman shall lead all congregational and Council meetings. The vice-chairman shall serve as chairman in his or her absence and succeed automatically to the chairmanship should that office be vacated. 3. Secretary. The secretary shall be responsible to record minutes of all Council and congregational business meetings and for the oversight of maintaining accurate and current membership rolls. 4. Treasurer. The treasurer shall be directly accountable to the Elders Council, and shall be responsible for ensuring that proper procedures are followed in the administration of all church properties, monies, and funds.

Bylaw 5 – Staff

1. Ministry staff. Ministers shall work closely with the pastors in providing leadership and teaching so that the church’s purpose is being accomplished.

a. Qualifications . Same as pastors.

b. Duties . Each ministry staff’s responsibilities and job description shall be reviewed by the Pastoral team annually.

c. Selection . The pastors shall work closely with the Council to determine the best available candidate(s). The Council shall present candidates to the congregation who shall upon a majority of members at a meeting where a quorum is present shall hire all ministry staff members.
