Twenty Five Years of Urban Church Planting Among the Poor: A Report 13 b) Church by the Lake: A Story of Church Plant Multiplication through Equipped and Empowered Leaders (2000)

The Church by the Lake was planted by Pastor Hector Cedillo in partnership with a team of World Impact Missionaries beginning in 1999. In January of 2004, The Church by the Lake planted its first church. Hector is believing God for at least 343 (7x7x7) daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter churches to be planted from Church by the Lake before he dies. A third church was planted through the ministry of The Church by the Lake in July of 2007 under the leadership of Pastor Enrique Juarez. A fourth church planter, Gonza Gonzalas was sent out to plant a church near Mexico City in the Fall of 2007. Both Enrique and Gonza were licensed by World Impact for ministry in October of 2007 and Pastor Hector was ordained

through World Impact on Oct. 14, 2006. More than twenty leaders from the Church by the Lake have become TUMI students, and as of the end of 2014, Hector and his TUMI students have seen 16 church plants commissioned in five countries (See list in Appendix). Two of the church plant team leaders whom Hector currently supervises (Pastors Douglas and Octavio) were saved and began their formal theological training at the TUMI satellite in Pitches County Jail where Hector currently serves as a TUMI mentor. Pastor Hector is pictured center right with Pastor Al (far right) and three TUMI students who began their TUMI studies in Los Angeles County Jails.
