ERP Recommendations for Final Action 

The AOAC ERP for SPIFAN Nutrient Methods recommended three methods for Final Action: 

AOAC 2011.06: Total Folates in Infant Formula and Adult Nutritionals by Trienzyme Extraction and UPLC‐MS/MS  Quantitation  AOAC 2011.14: Milk and milk products, Infant formula and Adult nutrition — Determination of minerals and trace  elements ‐ Inductive coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric method (ICP‐AES)  AOAC 2017.03: HPLC Determination of Total Tryptophan in Infant Formula and Adult/Pediatric Nutritional  Formula Following Enzymatic Hydrolysis  As part of the OMB’s consideration of AOAC 2011.14 as a Final Action method, please note that AOAC  2011.14  is currently an AOAC Final Action method for foods.  The current method and title have been  revised in ISO and IDF and extended through SPIFAN for the SPIFAN Matrices.   RECOMMENDATION:    For OMB to review the recommendation of the ERP and render a decision via e‐ballot.  As part of the e‐ ballot, the original method and manuscript will be included as there is a question of whether this  method should have a separate new AOAC number or re‐written in different parts to include all the  varying applicabilities.
