175 Years of Carl Bechem In 1834, Carl Bechem founded the first German oil plant in Hagen, North Rhine- Westphalia. Thus Carl Bechem GmbH can now look back on 175 years of experience in the production of industrial high performance lubricants. With more than 400 employees, 100 of them abroad, and daughter companies in France, India and Switzerland as well as joint ventures in the USA, South Africa, Sweden and China, Bechem is a global player in the field of speciality lubricants. Besides the headquarters in Hagen, Bechem has two more production sites in Germany. International productionplants are located in China, the USA and India. The company is still managed by the family, today in its sixth generation. The company’s basis for past development and its successful existence in the market despite growing competition is its clear and innovative management. With product and process innovations Carl Bechem is among the top European manufacturers of high performance lubricants. Recently the company attracted attention with the development of various new special lubricants in the automotive area and new coolant products in metalworking.

In the field of wire drawing, there are new methods and products for aluminium wire drawing. With the low-viscous drawing oils of the Berudraw AL product family, which contain special additives and antioxidants, new standards were set in connection with a filter system.Thedrawing lubricants allow full-stream filtering which retains particles of a size from 5µ. These lubricants offer low maintenance and extended lifetime. Double versatility PS Costruzioni Meccaniche has recently launched a completely new automatic coil and spool winding line, the PS 200/8 Combo.
