Artist in residence

по светлым и чистым цехам, люди, руки которых де- лали коньки в тех стенах. И нас, прежде всего, инте- ресуют рабочие завода, а также время и простран- ство памяти, и человек в нём. Поэтому мы возводим прозрачные стены Собора Музея Конькового Завода, в которых поместятся души всех, кто когда-то обитал в цехах, стоял у станков, вытачивал лезвия, прикру- чивал их к подмёткам ботинок, аккуратно укладывал в коробки, проверяя качество изделий. Мы попыта- емся построить Собор Воскрешающего Музея, о ка- ком когда-то грезил художник Василий Чекрыгин, пусть пока это будет воображаемый собор, но воис- тину, только такой собор невозможно разрушить, он живёт, пока жив Человек.

still with us. These are same people who once walked through workshops that were bright and clean, the same people whose hands made the skates within these walls. Although our primary interest is the factory workers themselves, we are also interested in temporal and spatial memory, and a person within. So we have built transparent walls for the Cathedral Museum of The Ice Skate Factory in which to house the souls of all those who once dwelled in these shops, stood at the work benches, ground the blades, affixed them to the soles of the shoes, stacked them neatly in boxes, and performed quality control. We have tried to build a Cathedral of the Resurrected Museum, once sketched out by the artist Vasiliy Chekrygin, albeit only an imaginary cathedral; the truth is that such a cathedral cannot be destroyed— it will persist as long as there are people.
