Notes from the Council

The Chebeague community spirit is most present in the quiet, generous acts of so many volunteers. From Wednesday soup to our terrific firefighters and rescue crew, what makes life here “work” is this willingness of so many people to help. With summer coming, the pace of life on the Island picks up and the demands on these volunteers increases accordingly. Please consider reaching out to any of the island organizations to see if there is something you can do to help. Thank you to everyone who gives of their time and effort to keep our community the strong and vibrant place we are all happy to call home.

T he U.S.M Student Nurse Health Clinic was well attended, and the donuts disappeared quickly. Membership letters have gone out. If you did not receive one, please let us know and we will send one to you. The Council depends on this community support and we hope we can count on your continued membership. Please send in your ideas for the 4th of July Parade theme by May 15 th ! You could win a private shopping experience at School House Seconds. We have had some great ideas come in, but no decision has been made - it is not too late to come up with a fabulous theme for this island tradition.
