Source: data by ACEA; own calculation While the market share of EVs in the European Union is gradually increasing year-on-year, reaching 22.3% in 2023 (up from 21.6% last year), of which more than half are pure EVs (14.6% of the total market share), there remain huge di erences between Member States (also depending on the expansion of the necessary charging infrastructure in each country). Traditionally, the share in the Nordic and Western countries tends to be several times higher than in the former Eastern Bloc countries. e Czech Republic (5.4%) is one of the countries with the lowest market share of EVs (ahead of Croatia with 4.6%).
