LASERIUM

Laserium, a thrilling sensory experience which com bines modern Laser Technology with good old rock and roll, blasted its wayinto stately Camino Theatre early in October. Almost one thousand students lined up for three seperate showings of the nationally famous light extrava- genza, which features current and past hits from perform ers suchas Journey, AC/DC, Yes, The Doors, Joe Jackson, and many others. Throughout the performance powerful on-stage lasers turned hanging chandeliers into majestic, fantastically colorful prisms, which sprayedthe walls and ceiling with light of every imaginable shade and intensity. Up front the screen supported wild, looping circles, human profiles, birds inflight, andrhythmically arranged geometric pat terns. The 80-minute show profitted from what wasperhaps the most extensive advertising campaign ever seen on campus. Dozens of exotic, multi-colored posters boasted of the coming"Dos EquisLaser XXperience". Though three showswere originally planned, the sec ond was cancelled in mid performance because one of the space-age lasers cracked a lens. Unlucky viewers were allowed to either accept a full refund or wait for the final showing, asmost eventuallydid.
