OXFAM Joining schoolsacross the country, USD once again participated in the OxlamWeek to raise funds to send people andtools to ThirdWorld countries. The people were sent to disseminate their knowledge of pr per crop growing and to teach others how to use modern tools. This techniqueallowed the peopleof the ThirdWorld the opportunity to learn for themselves how to better cultivate their crops. It provided those of the Third World the opportunitynot tobe distant from the First World. USD Clubs sponsored various events, such as Circle-K's SwapMeet, Zeta Tau Alpha's Balloon Sale, Alpha Delta Pi's Rock-a-thon, and Sigma Pi's Day at the Bay Jazz Fest. Therewas also the fantastic Mash Bash sponsored by the Greeks, the Campus Ministry Singathon, the Valley RA's CarWash, andthe "I Love Sr. Tim" bumper sticker soldby the choir. As always there was the day of fasting, inwhich participants were able to spiritually and physically feel for one daywhat many feel most of their lives. All the eventswere suc cesses and proved once again that at least when it comes to Oxfam, USD students have open, loving hearts, and pocketbooks!
