• Provide suicide prevention training to all Public Safety Dispatchers (Enhancing Public Safety, Preserving and Cultivating Public Trust, Supporting our Youth, Seniors, and Entire Community)

Financial Comments In FY 2018-20 budget process, $6,400 is recommended for enhanced training in the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Model. Each of our dispatchers will participate in this 15-hour training that teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. An additional $28,000 was approved as part of the same Decision Package for Police Officer training for a total of $34,400.
