...What’s Been Going On

“With the poor weather we’ve had it’s been a real strug gle getting trails ready in hopes that we get some snow. We’ve had a few very dedicated volunteers and local small businesses that have been helping us out. This is just an example of some of the work that has been done to help keep trails open. I want to give a shout out to Nathan Carroll for helping out in making this trail passable once again. I’d also like to thank our trail masters, and our core group of members that have given so much time.Today we received a letter from the state that we were approved for a $6,300 trail maintenance grant. The amount of money it cost to keep these trails up in our area is in the thousands. We depend on people joining the club and donating what they can to help us keep up our equipment and trail system. Also, as soon as our trail system is open I remind everybody that the T-bone Trail shack will be open weekends and some

nights for drinks and food, all made possible by the dona tions received in the shack.Think Snow everyone and please reach out anytime if you would like to help get involved or donate to our system or have any questions.”

Wire Bridge SnoTravelers “Another bridge made passable. Thank you Nate and Asa for stepping up to the plate along side of the crew from Wire bridge Sno-Travlers. Job well done!!”

“A bridge on Trail 17 floated off its site. Elden Yates, Joe Sirois, Glenn Belanger, and Steve Tre noweth (A&S Excavation) put it back in place. Thanks, guys!”

“Happy NewYear Snowmobilers! After a very long week, we have repaired all major wash outs on Palmer Pond Rd. and New Hayden pond Rd. To be able to get to the South side of Austin Pond Bridge. This would not have been possible without Erskine Construction from Athens and D. RobinsonTrucking from Pleasant Ridge. We also had Bon

neau and Son’s Construction from Skowhegan donate the use of an excavator. A front end loader was donated for use from 201 PowerSports and Jimmy’s Market. Winter Street Realty donated use of a tractor. Gateway Recreation donated the use of a tractor. Moose Alley Riders donated the use of a 1 ton dump. There was lots of logistics to make this happen. We need to thank Weyerhauser for the use of their gravel pits and materials. The goal was to make it into the bridge for Friday to meet the Forks AreaTrails club and the amazing folks that donated all of their time and equipment to make this project happen.Thank you Maine Lakeside Cabin’s for arranging this an putting them up. Thank you Andy Kokernak owner of McNaugh ton Bros construction from Hallowell. He also had some great helpers on his team. Thanks again Wyatt Manseau, Jon Andresen and Jeremy Greenman. This bridge might not have gotten done this year if there was not such dedication by our club members and our contractors. So much love for these people.”
