2019 AtlantiCare Foundation Annual Report on Giving

More than a century ago, a group of forward-looking citizens opened a hospital in Atlantic City. Their resources were limited, but their vision was not. They converted an old house, bringing much-needed hospital services to the community and setting in motion a century-long tradition of expansion that became AtlantiCare. We’ve come full circle. At Ohio and Atlantic Avenues, the very site where that little hospital first stood, we will soon begin construction of a $38 million medical arts facility. It will house classrooms for medical students, an expansion for maternal- fetal medicine, a new family practice clinic, dialysis and more. It will be key to AtlantiCare’s vision to build healthier communities, remove barriers to care and put critical technology and services within reach of those who need it most. Progress like this would be unattainable without you – today’s generation of forward-looking citizens who give selflessly to AtlantiCare Foundation. We had a terrific start, with the donation of the land and $15 million from CRDA, the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. To see the project to completion, the Foundation is taking the lead with a newmulti-million dollar campaign. We need your help to help make the dream reality. 2020 will bring even more opportunities to make a real difference in the health of the community. The Foundation is expanding tribute giving, including peer- to-peer and social fundraising initiatives, plus newways to honor physicians and caregivers through giving. In addition, we are working to deepen our mutually beneficial relationships with corporate partners. Caring for the community’s health requires a nimble, comprehensive healthcare system, fully prepared to meet the complex challenges that can strike without a moment’s notice. Your gifts make that healthcare system possible, today’s AtlantiCare. For that, we thank you.

“2020 will bring even more opportunities to make a real difference in the health of the community.”
