General Information

Security

By following our tips, Online Banking with Bank of Tennessee can be a safe and efficient method for handling your banking needs. For additional security tips, visit www.bankoftennessee.com. User Identification and Password Security starts at your computer. Never share your Login ID or password with anyone. Make sure your password is hard to guess by combining random numbers and letters instead of using your birth date, pet’s name or other personally identifiable choices. Secure Sockets Layer Encryption We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, a trusted method of securing internet transactions. This technology scrambles data as it travels between your computer and Bank of Tennessee, making it difficult for anyone to access your account information. Secure Access Code You need a secure access code to access your accounts when you log in to Online Banking with Bank of Tennessee for the first time or the first time from any new device. This code is delivered to you via phone call or SMS text message. You can opt to have your device registered so that you do not have to complete the Secure Access Code process the next time that you access Bank of Tennessee’s Online Banking system from that same device. If you delete the security certificate or “cookie” that recognizes your device as previously registered, you will need to request another secure access code. Online Banking Safety Tips: > Ensure your web browser, operating system, anti-virus software, and other applications are current and support 128-bit encryption. > Memorize your passwords and change them regularly. > Exit your Bank of Tennessee Online Banking session when finished. > Do not leave your computer unattended when logged in to Online Banking. > Do not use public computers or unsecured WiFi when accessing. > If you receive an error when logged in to your account, report the error to a customer service specialist at 866-378-9500.

General Information

Security

Bank of Tennessee will never send unsolicited emails asking you to provide, update, or verify personal or confidential information via return email. If you receive an email inquiry allegedly from Bank of Tennessee, please report the incident to a members service representative as quickly as possible. To mitigate the risk of online fraud and identity theft, your first and best protection is awareness. Phishing Phishing is an online scam tactic that is used to lure users into unknowingly providing personal data, such as credit card information or Login IDs and passwords. Using realistic-looking emails and websites, this tactic attempts to gain the trust of unsuspecting targets and convince them that vital information is being requested by a vendor they may already have a relationship with, such as their financial institution. Identity Theft Identity theft can occur when criminals find a way to steal your personal or other identifying information and assume the use of that date to access your personal accounts, open new accounts, apply for credit, purchase merchandise and commit other crimes using your identity. It is important to be aware of the dangers of identity theft so that you can take the steps to avoid becoming a victim. Logging Off As a secure practice, you should log off your Online Banking session with Bank of Tennessee before you close out of your session, anytime you walk away from your computer. For additional security, Bank of Tennessee will log you off automatically due to inactivity or when your Bank of Tennessee session reaches the maximum time limit. Fraud Prevention Tips: > Do not open email attachments or click on a link from unsolicited sources. > Avoid completing email forms or messages that ask for personal or financial information. > Do not trust an email asking you to use a link for verification of login or account details. > Monitor your account transactions for unauthorized use. > Shred old financial information, invoices, charge receipts, checks, unwanted pre-approved credit offers, and expired charge cards before disposing of them. > Contact the sender by phone if you are suspicious of an email attachment.

Token Process

Using Tokens: After completing a Wire Transfer or International Wire Transfer, the user with Approval authority will click Approve. Click Ok when the window prompts you to confirm the transaction. Then the following window will appear: All tokens must be registered with Bank of Tennessee. The hardware token will be mailed to each user and ready to use upon arrival. Once the Credential ID is registered you can begin approving wires using the VIP Access app. The VeriSign VIP token (hardware or software) will generate a six digit number every 30 seconds. What are Tokens? Tokens are a security device that add another level of security when making wire transfer requests. There are two types of tokens: hardware tokens and software tokens. Bank of Tennessee will issue a hardware token to each user authorized to approve wire transfers initiated through Business Online Banking. iPhone or Blackberry users with wire transfer approval authority can download a software token from the App world. The application is called VIP Access.

The first time a token is used, the dialog box will require users to enter two consecutive numbers. Enter Security Code 1, wait 30 seconds for a new number to appear on the token, and then key the second number in the Security Code 2 field. The Security Codes must match the numbers sent to you by our Online Banking system in order for the wire transfer to successful transmit. The wire transfer will not transmit without a successful match. For assistance with your token, contact Customer Service at 866-378-9500.

Introduction

Positive Pay is a feature available to our commercial customers that will help to minimize or eliminate check fraud to prevent losses, provide easier management of Voids and Stop-Payments, and simplify month-end checking account reconciliation. With Positive Pay, you submit an electronic file each day detailing business-issued checks. As each check is presented for payment, the Positive Pay system electronically compares it to the information in your file. If an item does not match the record you provide, it is flagged as an exception and referred back to you for a payment decision. ACH Blocks & Filters proactively monitors incoming ACH activity. Using this tool, every ACH transaction presented for payment is scrutinized. Suspicious transactions are presented for review. The service allows for firm restrictions on outgoing ACH payments, providing peace of mind that only authorized ACH transactions will be released.
