Life Cycle of an EC Record – ECR

PENDING-STATUS : When the user attempts to increment the revision of the assigned document - that has an ECR record associated to it and the ECR record is at its ACCEPTED-STATUS (approved through its workflow processes), the user will be prompted with a dialog similar to the following. If the user accepts the process of creating a new ECN record and they select the noted ECR record to become incorporated into the ECN record, then the [EC_STATE] (referencing the life-cycle status of the ECR record) will automatically change to PENDING :

By incorporating the ECR record into the newly created ECN record, the user can see from the previously discussed [ EC ] grid located within MechWorks PDM that: • The ECR record’s [EC_STATE] is automatically changed to PENDING. • The ECN record’s [EC_STATE] is automatically set to NEW. • The ECR record’s [INCORPORATING_ECN] is automatically populated with the parent ECN record [ID] .

If the user opens the ECR record, the noted changes are also listed within the ECR Data Form:
